I started out here, moved to D.C. and was the web editor here, senior news editor here, and now I'm a senior producer for The Washington Post's video department. I've written for Bookforum, The Nation, The Atlantic, Washington City Paper, The Root, the Chicago Reader, and NPR, among others.

I'll get around to posting a clips page, but in the meantime, why we stopped talking about safe sex, Elizabeth Taylor: unlikely AIDS activist, hanging with the librarians at SXSW, reading Elizabeth Bishop at 100, and a Bon Iver Women's Studies mix tape.

I just semi impulse bought two pair of Keith Haring underwear at Uniqlo because they were 2 for $9 but after swiping my card I immediately felt a powerful and shameful kind of buyer’s remorse I’ve never felt before and I’d return them but proceeds go to the Keith Haring foundation so that it seems wrong to take it back.

This is very weird. I feel very weird about this Keith Haring underwear that I now own.

BOBBY. I photographed some Keith Haring sneaks at a shop on 14th here in DC, but haven’t Tumbl'ed it yet because I too feel so uncomfortable with the commercialization of Haring.
